The YogaDhaama Experience - A Journey Into Yourself

At YogaDhaama, every program- whether a retreat, workshop, or teacher training – is designed to bring you back to your own inner clarity, strength, and stillness. Surrounded by nature, tradition, and a living gurukula environment, you don’t just learn yoga – you experience a gentle transformation that reconnects you with your authentic self.

Source - Unbroken Authentic Lineage

Yoga As a Pilgrimage

At Yogadhaama, yoga is not performance – it’s pilgrimage. Our teachings draw from a living lineage of masters, including Swami Dayananda Saraswati and Acharya Dr K.K. Subramani, blending timeless wisdom with modern clarity.

A Living Lineage

Students learn through the Guru-Shishya Parampara, studying Sanskrit, Vedanta, Yoga, Chanting, and Seva. The presence of Swami Visharadananda Ji – a monk devoted to inner exploration for six decades – turns Yogadhaama into a living classroom of self-discovery.

Beyond The Mat

Every class leads you toward stillness, structure, and self-understanding – guiding you far deeper than physical practice.

Space - Nature, Food & Stillness

Where Nature and Yoga Become One

A sanctuary where nature and yoga meet in quiet harmony. Set amidst farms and village fields near Mysore, Yogadhaama offers a calm that urban life cannot give.

A Living Classroom Shaped by Nature

Here, nature teaches – birds at dawn, rain on earth, the hum of silence. Practice unfolds in open and enclosed shaalas built from bamboo, stone, and grass – spaces designed to ground and soften you.

Food That Nourishes the Body and Mind

Meals are sattvic and home-grown – 40% harvested from our own organic campus – supporting deep practice through clean nourishment.

A Peace That Comes From Living Simply

Peace isn’t curated here – it’s lived. Days flow with rhythm, stillness, and the quiet assurance that comes from being close to the earth.

Purpose - Every Practice is Seva

Education as a Shared Purpose

Each retreat and training at Yogadhaama supports girls’ education through the Cauvery Kanya Gurukulam – a free residential school for young women.

A Gurukula Rooted in Dharma and Modern Learning

Rooted in Vedic study and modern education, the Gurukulam empowers girls to grow as strong, compassionate leaders. Many live and learn on campus, giving guests a glimpse into a living, traditional Gurukula environment.

Where Your Practice Becomes Seva

When you learn here, you help sustain a lineage of learning – ensuring that ancient wisdom continues to flow into future generations.

A Community That Grows Together

Students, teachers, and Gurukula girls share the same land, creating a space where learning, service, and connection naturally intertwine.

Knowledgeable Supportive Teachers

Teachers Who Shape the Yogadhaama Experience

The quality of instruction and the sincerity of our teachers are among the most appreciated aspects of every program.

Masters of Their Craft

Highly knowledgeable and deeply experienced, our teachers blend traditional yogic wisdom with modern clarity — offering teachings that are both authentic and accessible.

Supportive, Warm, and Present

They are kind, welcoming, and approachable, offering personal attention to every student, regardless of level or background.

Guided by Passion and Purpose

Their passion is contagious. They inspire confidence, nurture discipline, and motivate students to grow physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Clarity in Every Lesson

Whether it’s alignment, adjustments, philosophy, pranayama, or teaching methodology, our faculty excels at breaking down complex teachings with precision and ease.

The Inner Journey That Stays With You

A Journey That Transforms You From Within

The most profound outcome of these immersive programs is the profound personal change experienced by every participant.

A Before-and-After Experience

Many describe their time here as life-changing – a shift that brings clarity, inner peace, and a renewed perspective on how they live and move in the world.

Growth Beyond the Physical

Students gain a holistic understanding of yoga that extends far beyond postures – encompassing the realms of mind, body, and spirit.

Strength, Stability, and Ease

Participants often experience noticeable improvements in flexibility, strength, body awareness, discipline, and emotional steadiness.

A Space for Healing and Self-Discovery

The environment encourages introspection, self-love, and emotional healing – helping each person reconnect with themselves in a deeper, more authentic way.

A Strong Sense of Community

A Community That Feels Like Home

The warmth of the environment and the relationships formed here create an emotional support system cherished by every participant.

A Family-Like Atmosphere

Students and staff treat one another with genuine warmth and care, making Yogadhaama feel like a true “second home.”

A Supportive Circle of Peers

The peer community is often described as loving, empathetic, and deeply supportive — with many friendships continuing long after the program ends.

Staff Who Care From the Heart

Across every role, staff members are appreciated for being friendly, attentive, cooperative, and always available whenever a student needs support.

We Host You Lead

Yogadhaama’s “We Host / You Lead” model lets teachers focus entirely on guiding their retreat while we handle stay, food, facilities, and guest care. Whether it’s a 3-day yoga program, a week-long coaching immersion, or a cultural workshop, our on-ground team manages rooms, meals, and hospitality so everything flows smoothly. We also assist with airport transfers, taxis, and Mysore visits, and offer optional cultural add-ons like Manasa Puja, Bhajans, Sanskrit sessions, coracle rides, and bullock cart tours to bring an authentic Indian flavour to your retreat.

Where Yoga Feels Real

Yoga Dhaama is the perfect spot to relax by the river and gather your thoughts. There are yoga activities and Mysore is a bus ride away. The traditional Indian philosophy behind Yoga Dhaama and the girls’ school is profound – you understand it when you ask.

Simple Stay, Deep Peace

Quiet and peaceful Airbnb in beautiful surroundings. The Riverside view is amazing – perfect to relax and watch the river. Kusuma took great care of everything. Meals were simple and delicious. Loved it!

Kind People, Calm River

They all said they liked the class. You were clear, well-structured, interactive, and they especially enjoyed the chanting. They just need some time to remember the different terms and concepts, which is totally normal. All good – I really enjoyed it too.

Sunrise and Silence

YogaDhaama is a special place, both for its location and the gurukulam for young girls: a great project and wonderful cause. Staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.

India in My Heart

The food in Samana is very clean, delicious, healthy and made with a lot of love. It is hard to resist the food here. If I skip the Asana class, I’m sure to put on some weight. I want to come back to this school again.

Peace for the Heart

Stayed two nights — staff were flexible and kind. Surroundings are peaceful and serene. Moments by the river were spiritually meaningful as we grieved our mother. Food was good. Overall, a lovely stay.

Heartfelt Gratitude & Warmth

The picture of India through the media is different, but after I came to YogaDhaama, my perspective of India has completely changed. Their culture is so rich; the people are so warm, and their hearts are very pure.

Serendipity by the Stream

Finding Apoorva’s place was serendipity. Peaceful room next to a quiet stream. The concept of being next to a girls’ gurukulam teaching Vedic literature fascinated me. Simple, delicious food and a small library. We enjoyed nature and reading by the river. A wonderful experience.

Wisdom That Stays With You

The classes by Aacharya and Vishwajith deepened my understanding of life and yoga.
They give lively, interactive classes with relatable examples that make concepts clear.
